About US

First built in 1888 within sight of Norwich Cathedral, Mousehold Heath and the City Walls, Magdalen Gates has a long history of working closely with the community to provide a happy and successful environment for learning.

At present there are 197 children on roll. There are two main parts to the school.  In KS1 there are currently 4 teaching bases with a central area that is used for a range of purposes including role play and art work, it also has a well stocked library and a designated first aid area.  We have converted one of the classrooms into a meeting/family room and a staff working room, this area also has a central store cupboard.  We also have a kitchen to support cooking in the curriculum. 

The class bases in the KS2 have all been redecorated, the lirbary area refurbished and re-stock with quiet working areas, computer base and a range of new books.  Our intervention staff are based in this area of school - please come and visit and see our school in action !

In the west of the building there are 2 large halls one a P.E. hall, the other is used for a range of activities including our After School and Holiday Club, First Steps – a parent and carer toddler group and school packed lunches.  Our newly refurbished ICT Suite  and music room is located within this part of our school grounds.
