This term in Year 4 we have been learning all about the country France. The children have enjoyed writing their own non-fiction booklets about the country, with topics including traditional foods, landmarks, weather and climate, and others. We have been learning how to bake French pastries, such as cinnamon-sugar filled palmiers, croissants and pain au chocolat. In our Art lessons, we have studied artists including Monet and Renoir, and we even re-created Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa using Pop Art techniques!
This year, we are lucky to have been selected to take part in the Norfolk Food Discovery programme, which involves not only learning where our food comes from, learning how to plant and grow fruits and vegetables from seed, and more importantly, tasting different fruits and vegetables. This week we tasted raw beetroot, turnip, carrot and basil.
