This term Year 4 have been learning all about what it must have been like to be an evacuee during the Blitz of the Second World War. We visited the Time and Tide museum in Great Yarmouth, dressed as WWII evacuees, and learnt how to handle Mark One Training rifles, how to create a ‘rag rug’ using scraps of material, and how to make delicious (!) carrot sandwiches for lunch.
We have been very busy learning about materials and their changing states in Science, which has included observing coloured ice-cubes mixing together as they melt, and shaking bottles of fizzy pop until all the gas was released! We were invited to visit the Norwich Lower School to take part in a Sensational Science workshop, where we got to wear real science lab coats and goggles, and create rockets!
